Harrods Aviation's Sikorsky S76C flying past The Houses of Parliament (officially known as the New Palace of Westminster) in London, England. The House of Commons and House of Lords are both locate in the New Palace of Westminster, which was built on the banks of the River Thames.

Although still a Royal Palace, the last monarch to live in the Palace of Westminster was Henry VIII, who moved out in 1512 having recently acquired Cardinal Wolsey's Hampton Court and built St. James Palace.

Parliament has met in the Palace of Westminster since around 1550. The idea of 'Parliament' started in 1215, when the Magna Carta was signed by King John, although Edward I was the first to consider a 'Model Parliament.' The Model Parliament of 1295 encompassed a mixture of clergy, lords and elected officials. Representatives of the knights and burgesses were also assembled to give approval. This developed over the years from the small group of nobles advising the King of England, into the present day Parliament of the Monarch, House of Lords and House of Commons, with a Prime Minister and a cabinet
