Re: Noise Pollution
Dear Georgina,
I read your admirable magazine with interest, but may I diffidently suggest that you turn your attention in a forthcoming issue to pollution: Noise pollution.
Helicopters are the prime offenders. Living as we do under the take off and landing paths of two busy air- ports and a quarter of a mile from the stacking beacon for them and two others, we are all too familiar with every form of noise from aircraft!
With the disappearance of the BAC111 this is less and less of a problem. Infinitely worse - and very irritating indeed - is the persistent, end-less, throbbing, drilling noise of helicopters, which seem to be under no form of noise control and no discipline whatever.
They seem to fly endlessly overhead...
