Better than the Pied Piper's flute?

James Lovett demostrates you can go anywhere in the air with Flymap and a Gazelle.

James Lovett is a twenty-one year old pilot from New Zealand, who has been flying in that country since getting his licence at the age of sixteen. He is now flying Rob Lamplough’s Gazelle in the United Kingdom and, given the hugely differing landscape, unstable weather and demanding airspace regulations, might be forgiven for getting lost; however, James says, this has never happened thanks to the Flymap.

“In bad weather it is indispensable, not least because it highlights the airspace you are aiming for, warning you with red outlines of the edges of the airspace. To get out of trouble all you have to do is move the pointer on the Flymap and it will give you another course to steer to get clear.”

There are two versions of Flymap for use in the cockpit, the ‘pocket Flymap’ and the larger, ‘L’ version, which has more features but still doesn’t take up much space. Both have touch screens which make them easier to use. William Moore, the MD of Wills Engineering, who make Flymap says, “this is our hardware running our software, which is what makes it so efficient.”...
