Women Fly the World

Baroness Thatcher was the surprise Guest of Honour at the Opening Reception at the House of Lords for speakers, delegates and sponsors of the Aviation and Women in Europe Conference – the first to be held in the UK. The former British Prime Minister – one of the best known women internationally – achieved the near impossible when her entry silenced dozens of women who were busy talking aviation and networking.

Lady Thatcher, whose attendance was kept a closely guarded secret, was introduced to as many of those present as possible before she had to leave after another busy day. The reception was sponsored by executive recruitment company Odgers Ray & Berndston.
