Book Review - "Last Chance Rescue"

Appropriately, for this issue of Helicopter Life with its emphasis on NVGs, Last Chance Rescue starts with with the ambulance helicopter on a mission, and the hero, Brad, being introduced to NVGs.

The book is a romantic action novel about HEMS paramedics, their lives, their work, how this work interweaves with their personal situations, and in some cases the reasons which drew them into search and rescue work in the first place.

Written, as it is, by a girl who worked as an Army Reserve paramedic and, as she explains, drawn intensively from her own experiences, it is a very interesting behind the scenes look at a life-style very few people, even helicopter pilots, get to experience, and has a very genuine feel to the rescues and problems which paramedics face....
