House and Helicopter

As part of the helicopter’s century of flight celebrations, the French Navy and the Louvre museum decided to combine in a public display of two helicopters. The first one was this AS365 above, flying from the Mediterranean base of Toulon-Hyères, and the other one was a replica of the first helicopter flown a hundred years ago by Paul Cornu, rebuilt by a group of students at the French school of engineering ESTACA.

The Dauphin  above belongs to and is usually flown by  the Charles de Gaulle nuclear aircraft carrier’s fleet. It is used as a “Pedro” helicopter, dedicated to rescue sailors and pilots around the ship, flying every time a plane is launched or lands back...
