World Helicopter Championships

The 13th World Helicopter Championships was held in August 2008 in Eisenach, Germany, the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach. Forty-four teams, from Russia, Austria, Germany, UK, France, Switzerland and Ukraine, met to compete in four events: the Navigation exercise, the Precision Square, the Slalom and the Postman. There was also, as usual, a separate Open Freestyle event. The World Championships also provided the basis for a wonderful social week in which helicopter pilots and those interested in helicopters, and their families and friends from around the world, were able to enjoy the company of the friends and acquaintances whom they meet at this event, only once every three years. This gives them the chance to enjoy the best that the host nation has to offer....
