The orange helicopters of the United States Coast Guard Air Station Houston have been a familiar sight in the skies providing search and rescue assistance since 1963. Operating out of Ellington airport, 17 miles south east of Houston, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) air station Houston responds to over 150 missions annually covering an area stretching from the Colorado River to White Lake in the neighbouring state of Louisiana. Their operational area also covers most of the Gulf of Mexico coastline along north east Texas....
