While Farnborough is notoriously not dedicated to helicopters, there were many developments this year that involved all forms of aviation, and included helicopters in their sphere. Principally, these include the ever-growing market for alternative fuels, but is also includes ‘clever’ and super-light materials such as those used in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Then there is the growth of the UAV market many of which are helicopters. This alone meant it was going to be a good show.
