These Cabri G2s are now back in New Zealand after being used on tuna boats. The company discovered that, while the Cabris were OK for the work they suffered with corrosion which affected the electrics, the plasma running system, the drive system and even the fenetron. Guimbal are aware of these problems and are working with XX Aviation to try and resolve them. However, these are early days for Cabris, there are currently after 110 produced, of which some 20 + are in New Zealand, so it is not surprising they have had some teething problems. Robinson had early problems with the R22, R44 and R66, so it is only to be expected.
Effects of corrosion
Talked to Bruno Guimbal about this and he said it is not representative of normal G2 use as the conditions were very extreme
